On Waiting

Wait. Wait hushed, quiet-still, my friend, for the Lord is near. Wait. Weight, God’s glorious weight, will wash well over you, swell, crest and crash salty-fresh when you come to a place of watchfulness, welcoming and wrapping your arms around waiting when she walks in the door.

Remain

Remaining. Jesus calls us to remain. In a world bent on busyness, rush hour traffic, and to-do lists, our concept of time, waiting and being has been unfortunately skewed. The idea that God simply desires us to be with Him, above and beyond all else, is the simplest and most easily forgotten form of discipleship. The core of our walk with Christ is wonderfully simple: Rise and remain with Jesus.
